Roxie Estella Jensen was born to James Franklin Jensen and Laura Estella Whitmill on 23 Mar 1902 in the little house that her father built in Basalt, Bingham, Idaho. Their first child was named James Roland Jensen, but he died at the age of 5 months. After Roxie was born her parents had two more sons, Melvin Ernest and Mark Franklin. When Roxie was almost seven, her mother passed away on 21 Feb 1909. Due to circumstances of those days, her pa, as she called him, felt it necessary to have her adopted. She was adopted by James and Elizabeth Duckworth in Blackfoot, Idaho, on 13 Mar 1913, ten days before she turned eleven years old. This was a big adjustment for her. The Duckworths were well-to-do and gave her many opportunities that she would not have received otherwise. They had previously adopted a baby girl that was now five, named Muriel. They later adopted two baby boys, James Hanson(Jimmy) and Nathan Rex. Roxie's birth father was killed while hunting on 11 Sep 1917. She married Glenn Alley Haws 16 Jun 1926 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were blessed with two daughters and one son. Glenn died of a sudden heart attack at the age of 46 on 17 Feb 1952. Roxie passed away suddenly at the age of 61 on 1 May 1963 in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
