Chaplain of the 79th U.S. Colored Infantry.Assistant Commissioner for the Freedman in Louisiana,State
superintendent of schools,and organized the New York anti saloon League and a temperance insurance company.
Secretary of the New York state temperance League.Died in Brooklyn N.Y. April 6,1887 of congestive heart failure.
