Joy Browning Barker, 80, passed away Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009, at a local care facility.
Service: 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home.

Joy was born June 10, 1928, in Littlefield to Alcie and Roy Kemp. She was a homemaker, mother and an excellent cook. She was an interior decorator for the family home building business.
Joy was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Ira Browning Jr., in 1986; her second husband, Ben C. Barker, in 2006; and a son, Larry Browning, in 2002.
Survivors: Daughter, Jeri Jo Blackmon; son, Trey Browning and wife, Leslee; stepsons, Ben C. Barker Jr. and wife, Janice, and Bob F. Barker and wife, Trisha; twin brother, Troy Lee Kemp; brother, John R. Kemp; grandchildren, Tiffany Weaver, Lindsey Wingerson, Ashley Browning, Cameron Blackmon, Chase Blackmon, Daniel Barker, Denise Griffin, David Barker, Robert Barker, Jonathan Barker, Tamela Barker, Benjamin Barker, Frederick Barker, Bridget Parece and Courtney Barker; and 17 great-grandchildren.
