Harvey Delos Kellogg was born March 23, 1838 in Bertrand, Berrien Co, Michigan the 4th child of Harvey and Jerusha Kellogg. This is close to Niles Michigan just above the Michigan Indiana border on the western side of the state.

Harvey Delos moved with his fathers family from Bertrand, Michigan to LaPorte County Indiana between March 23, 1838 and the time of the 1840 census. LaPorte County Indiana is located just across the Michigan/Indiana border adjacent to Berrien County Michigan.
He Married Martha M Rich on October 19, 1865 at Waverly, Bremer, Iowa. Martha was born June 29, 1843 in New York the daughter of Thomas and Mary Rich

A son George Edward was born July 15, 1866 in Charles City Iowa
A son Guy Cary was born May 29, 1870 in Charles City Iowa
A son Milton Ray was born to Harvey and Martha on March 15, 1877 in Nebraska.

Harvey Delos moved the family to a homestead in Alcona Twp, Rooks Co. Kansas by covered wagon in 1878. There were 4 wagons in the party and Harvey Delos had a yoke of oxen and a team of horses. First houses in the west were made of prairie sod or were dug out of the bank. The family at this time included his wife and three sons. At the time the closest railroad was 70 miles away.
Harvey Delos and family moved to Hendley, Furnas Co Nebraska between 1885 and 1892

Harvey Delos's wife Martha died December 5, 1892 in Hendley, Furnas Co. Nebraska and was buried in Lynden Cemetery.

He reportedly also lived in Harrisburg Oregon 1870, Sacramento California, Mt Vernon Missouri
