Norman E. Johnson, 80, Ada, Minn., died Tuesday, May 13, 1997, in Moorhead Health Care Center.

Mr. Johnson was born March 22, 1917, near Borup, Minn. He attended school near
Twin Valley, Minn., and Ada. He farmed with his father near Ada until his
death in 1955. In June 1961 he married Evelyn Hasz and they continued farming
until 1966 when they moved into Ada. He married Evelyn Luchau Oct. 3, 1970, in
Ada. He worked for the city of Ada until he retired. He then started his own
lawn service and snow removal business.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Sheila (Dan) Compeau, Grand Forks,
N.D.; five stepsons, Milton (Judy) Luchau, Marshfield, Wis., Byron (Pam)
Luchau, Hot Springs, S.D., Dennis Luchau, Detroit Lakes, Minn., LeRoy (Linda)
Luchau, Fargo, Steve (Merry) Luchau, Alexandria, Minn.; three stepdaughters,
Marcella (David) Kappes, Twin Valley, Marilyn (John) Gunderson, Gary, Minn.,
Jean (Greg) Brewster, Anaheim, Calif., three sisters, Mabel Peppel, Borup,
Vivian (Glen) Hanson, Ada, Esther (Milton) Kirkeby, Twin Valley; two
grandchildren, 18 stepgrandchildren and 15 stepgreat-grandchildren.

Visitation: Friday from 5 to 7 in Fredrikson Funeral Home, Ada, and one hour
before the funeral in the church.

Funeral: Saturday at 2:30 in Zion Lutheran Church, Ada.

Burial: Ada Municipal Cemetery.
