|FROM THE DESOTO EAGLE EYE 1904|
Conrad C. Scott was born in Savannah, Mo., March 15, 1845; died near Monticello, Kans., Feb. 2, 1904, at 7:12 p. m., aged 58 years, 10 months and 18 days. He was united in marriage to Miss Jennie Pitts in August, 1869, in Maryville, Mo. As a result of this union six children were born of whom one daughter and three sons survive the father. In 1872 he with his wife united with the Christian church in Maryville, Mo., where they retained their membership until the time of his departure. The deceased was spoken of by his many friends and neighbors as a man of integrity and a true citizen. He served four years and nine months in Co F, 12th Missouri cavalry and was honorably discharged at the end of the war. I visited him several times during his last illness and found him trusting in God and not afraid to die. Services were conducted at the home and the remains interred in the De Soto cemetery Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 3, 1904. The bereaved ones have the sympathy and prayers of the many friends. s. p. y.
