Richard L."Pete"Able departed this life Tuesday,April
24,1990 at V.A. Medical Center. He was the son of the late Sam and Mary Abell.He served in World War II in the U.S.Army and was discharged with honorable mentions.He professed a hope in Christ under the pastorage of Dr.C.J.Cunningham and United with New Zion Baptist Church,Louisville,Ky.He was an active and faithful member serving as an usher and ordained deacon until incapacitated twenty-one years ago.He was joined in holy matrimony to Mattie Curry in 1963.Richard,affectionately called "Pete"or "Dick" by those who knew him,rarely met a stranger.In his many years of employment as a driver for Day's Lumber Company,with his outgoing personality and love for his fellowman,made it easy for others to also love him.
