Mary E. Rutledge Hammond, wife of C.V. Hammond, of Abbeville, SC, died at her home on the afternoon February 14, 1908, after a short illness. She had been a great sufferer of rheumatism for several years.
Her husband on five grown children survive her, namely, C.C. Hammond of Spartanburg, SC, Gaines Hammond of Greenwood, SC, Mrs. L.D. Caldwell and Nettie Hammond, both of Abbevile, SC, and Mrs. Brogdon of Atlanta, GA.
