Wayne was born April 22, 1942, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the youngest child of Calvin Poynor "C.P. or Pete" and Elgiva (Hestand) Plumlee. He died May 8, 2002, at his home in Tuttle.
Wayne lived in Tuttle most of his life. He started his trucking career by working for his Uncle Pocahontas "Poc" Hestand at Public Warehouse. He then worked at Rocket Freight Lines and eventually moved on to Illinois-California Express Freight Lines (ICX), all out of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. At the time of his death, he was a retired truck driver for Keebler Cookie Company, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Wayne attended Central Church of Christ in Moore, Oklahoma.
He and Retha Lucille (Hilliard) Carroll Plumlee were married October 13, 1989, in Van Buren, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Louis Edward Plumlee, and his second wife, Doris Lavern (Youell) Martinez Plumlee.
He is survived by his third wife, Retha, of the home; his first wife, Donna L. (Steen) Plumlee and the mother of his two sons, Timothy Scott Plumlee of Oklahoma City and Christopher Stacy Plumlee of Tuttle; two grandchildren, Angilena Nicole Willis and Jeremiah Wayne "Jeremy" Plumlee; four brothers, Hubert Lee Plumlee and wife, Mary, of Oklahoma City, Billy Paul Plumlee and wife, Joy, of Tuttle, Calvin Vernon Plumlee and wife, Joy, of Tuttle, and Rephord Joe Plumlee of Tuttle; one sister, Helen Louise (Plumlee) Wood and husband, Floyd, of Tuttle; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Interment was in Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home, Tuttle, Oklahoma.
