Annie was first married to Robert Dyer Caddy on 20 May 1858 in Fayette County, Ohio. They had one daughter: Flora Bell Caddy. Robert was killed on 20 September 1863 in the battle of Chickamauga. Annie later married Joseph Bowling and together they had six children: Clyde, Grace, Maude, Katherine, John and Jessie Bowling, before she died at the age of 45 on 10 December 1886.

Died December 10th at 2:30 o'clock, Mrs. Samantha Bowling, wife of Mr. Joe Bowling, aged 46 years, 5 months and 23 days. Mrs. Bowling was sick only a few weeks and her death was unexpected by all. She leaves a husband and eight children, six of whom are quite young, to mourn her loss. She was buried at the Jeffersonville cemetery, Sunday, December 12th. Mr. Bowling and family have the sympathy of the community.
