Porter Malen Fitzgerald, a man devoted to his wife, family and friends, passed away. Porter was born to David and Anna Fitzgerald. He grew up in the Fowler and Selma areas, graduating from Clovis High School in 1931.

He married Georgia Lee Lillie in 1934. They were married for 63 years until her death in 1997.

Porter and Georgia loved their children and were devoted to providing a stable loving home for their family.

Porter farmed in the Fowler area for 46 years and also worked for Henry Kaiser Company building Liberty cargo ships during WWII.

Porter is survived by his twin sisters, Loyce Dugovic and Joyce Holland; son, Lee Fitzgerald; and daughters, Elaine Ghan and Judy Knod. He also leaves behind ten grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Wallin's Fowler Funeral Home on Sunday, January 4, 2009, and on Monday, January 5, 2009, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.

A Graveside Service will be held at Belmont Memorial Park, 201 N. Teilman, Fresno, on Tuesday, January 6, 2009, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Memorial Service at Fowler Presbyterian Church at 11:30 a.m.

Remembrances may be sent to the Fowler Presbyterian Church, Community Food Distribution Fund, 408 E. Merced St., Fowler, Ca., 93625.
