Dale Woodrow Brown, 62, died at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday at Johnson County Memorial Hospital. Retired from the Indiana State Auditor's office, he had served as a state food buyer during the Branigin administration, and as a manager of post exchanges at Atterbury, Chaunute Air Force Base and Fort Harrison.

Born, February 25, 1918, Union Township, Johnson County, he was the son of Chalmers James Brown and Martha Vandivier Brown. He married Helen Marie Stewart, April 21, 1946, in Bloomington, Monroe County, Indiana, and she survives.

A graduate of Frankin highschool, he was a member of Northwood Christian Church, Indianapolis and the North-east Kiwanis club.

He served in the United States Navy during World War II.

The Rev. Wayne Unger will conduct a funeral service Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Vandivier-Tudor Funeral Homew with burial following in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m.Thursday and after 2 p.m Friday.

Other survivors include daughters, Madonna kay Vatovec, Newburgh, Kathy Sue Brown, Franklin; three sons, Larry Dale Brown, Hilo Hawaii, Gary Dean Brown, Shelbyville, and James Randall Brown, Franklin; brother Raymond Brown, Franklin; seven grandchildren and three step-grand children, two nephews and a niece.
