Edith Anderson Summers was called by God the Father on December 29, 2008.

Edith was Born in Maplewood, WV, on January 14, 1920 to Dallas Wilbert and Lena Walker Anderson who preceded her in death.

Edith resided many years in Cross Lanes, Sissonville, and Maplewood. She also spent many winters in Orange City, FL. Edith was a homemaker, and enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting and reading. She was a member of Fisher United Methodist Church, raised her children at Fairview United Methodist and attended Maplewood United Methodist and Clifftop Community Church.

Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Hester Hanshaw and Pauline Hanshew, a grandson Eric Almond and a great-grandson Sylvia Lee Wilson.

Those left to cherish her memories are children, Nancy and Mike Bright of Cross Lanes, James A. and Patsy Summers of Sissonville, Thomas and Carolyn Summers of Cross Lanes, Sarah and Mark Higgs of Mt. Zion, Donna and Eddie Almond of Beaver; ten grandchildren, Robin Bright Eskins, Lori Summers Wilson, James Robert Summers, Amy Summers Baggett, Angela Summers Stone, Thomas Aaron Summers, Elizabeth Vuoso, Franklin Trabucco, Rachel Almond Kirkham, and Charles Almond, and fourteen great -grandchildren. Friends and family will forever remember her kind smile and loving heart.

The Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 2, at Long and Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Anderson Cemetery, Maplewood.

A gathering of friends and family will be 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to: The Maplewood United Methodist Church, HC 35 Box 620, Maplewood, WV 25831.
