William Richard Jacobson
OGDEN – William Richard Jacobson passed away at McKay Dee Hospital on December 21, 2008. He was born in Argyle (Randolph), Utah on October 9, 1928 to Merry Christmas Dunn and Achel Jacobson. He was the youngest of five sons; Mynard (deceased), Sheldon (deceased), Fay (Barbara), Hurricane, Utah and Kib (deceased).
He spent his youth on the family ranch in Randolph, graduating from South Rich High School in 1948. He and his classmates celebrated their 62nd reunion in September of 2008.
He moved to Ogden in 1948. He married Geraldine Hill and they had four children; Gary (deceased) (Carolyn), JoAnn (Maurice) Godbout, Janet Schen (Jim Erickson) and James (Marlene). They were later divorced.
In 1965 he married Mary Elizabeth Campbell in the Logan LDS Temple. They have two sons, Steven (Denise) and Robert (Deborah).
Bill had a 33 ½ year career at Hill AFB. After retiring he worked for Mayflower as a Driver Trainer and for the last 15 years has been a Utah Certified Commercial Drivers License Tester.
He was an active member of the LDS Church, holding many positions including Bishop, High Counselor, and serving an inter-city mission with his wife.
He is survived by his wife; children; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and his brother.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Birch Creek 7th Ward Chapel, 3680 Eccles Ave. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the church.
