Frances Balch Obituary
Frances E. Balch, 85, of Charleston, died at 7:55 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 20, 2004) at Prairieview Care Center. A graveside memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Shiloh Cemetery, rural Lerna with Pastor Sharon Monroe officiating. No visitation. The Caudill-King Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born July 12, 1918, in Coles County, daughter of Herman and Inez Stewart Davis. She married Bill Balch in 1939; he died in 1993. Survivors include two sisters, Wanda Chism of Lerna and Marguerite Honn of Charleston; and one grandchild. She was also preceded in death by one son, five brothers and five sisters. Mrs. Balch was a homemaker. She was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church, Charleston.
