Daughter of the late James and Minnie Stovall Kitchen, she was a member of the First Assembly of God Church and co-founder of the Women's Aglow ministry in Sikeston. She had taught school in a one-room schoolhouse in Cross County, AR, for many years and later worked for the International Shoe Company before retiring in 1968.
On Sept. 1, 1937, in Cherry Valley, AR, she married Buford Fowler.
Other survivors include: one son, Bobby L. Fowler; two daughters, Catherine Wilson, and Mary F. Alsup; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
One brother and four sisters preceded her in death.
