ZANG, JOHN - Death News Article - at Creede, Colo., "Hotel Man Invades Home During Absence of Rancher; Frail Woman's Clothing Torn to Shreds in Unequal Fight; Breaks Away and Gets Gun; Forced to Fire." In defense of her honor, Mrs. Michael Le Fevre, wife of a prominent leasor of this district, shot and instantly killed John Zang, 55 years old. Mrs. LeFevre is nearly frantic over the tragedy, and is being held in custody. Mrs. LeFevre states that Zang entered her home, knowing her husband was away, states she tried to fend him off, he refused to leave. During her defense she shot and killed him. *La, Fevre, Mrs. Michael - Death News Article - at Creede, Colo., a coroners' jury at the inquest in to the death of John Zang, proprietor of the Zang hotel, who was shot and killed by Mrs. LaFevre, returned a verdict today stating that Zang came to his death at the hands of the woman, who acted in self defense. Mrs. LaFevre declared she had been pushed into the bedroom, by Zang when he discovered her husband was not at home, her clothing torn, and she was hit in the face. She showed much emotion in the hesitant recital of the struggle. She stated she fought as long as
she could, after being thrown on the bed three times, she grabbed the revolver. She told him to stop, and he took no heed, rushing her to the kitchen. She has regained
her composure and will go to Denver with her husband for the interment at Riverside.
