Earnest Acosta 1926-2008 Earnest Acosta was born on September 3, 1926 in Powell, Texas and passed peacefully on July 20, 2008 in his Long Beach home. He is survived by his wife, Zoe; children, Annette and Philip; grandchildren, Christal, Sarah, Andrew and Tyler; and great-grandchildren, Alanna, Christian, Cienna, and Michael. Earnest proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He came to California in hopes of becoming famous in Hollywood, but his life took a turn when he discovered a passion to be a barber. He became an aircraft mechanic for McDonell Douglas in 1953, and devoted 48 years before retiring. Earnest will be loved and missed by all, but his legacy will live on with his loving family. We love you Papa! A memorial will be held at St. Irenaeus Catholic Church, Friday, July 25, 2008 at 8:00 a.m., 5201 Evergreen Ave, Cypress, CA 90630 followed by a final resting at 11:30 a.m. at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, CA 92518.
