Clyde Edwin Freeman died Saturday in a house fire. He was 81.

He was born April 28, 1918 and lived in Lima for 57 years. He was a member of the Army for 29 years and worked in the New Lima School System for 20 years. He was a member of the Mt. Zion AME Church.

He is survived by his daughters, Sara Freeman Salbego of St. Louis, Missouri, Clydetta Freeman of Oklahoma City, Sharon Starnes of Seminole, Audrey Lewis of Orlando, Florida and Avril Freeman of Oklahoma City, sons, Stanley Freeman of Baltimore, Maryland, Franklin Freeman of Seminole and Andre Freeman of Wewoka, a brother, Franklin Freeman of Shawnee, a sister, Celestine Brown of Oklahoma City, fifteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Tri-City Christian Center in Seminole with Rev. John W. Forbes III officiating. Burial is at Lima Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Myers Mortuary.
