James Belknap, 79, died at his home in Orleans township last Sunday evening following an eight months' illness of a stroke.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Stebbins funeral home Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock by Rev. McGinnis, of Palo. Burial will be in the Woodard Lake Cemetery.
Mr. Belknap was born in Fowlerville. He was married in Ionia September 22, 1881, his widow surviving him.
They had lived the greater part of their lives near Weidman, but came to Orleans two years ago. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and the Maccabee lodge.
He also leaves five children, Mrs. Charles Stoddard, of Ronald township; Frank Belknap, of Farwell; Mrs. Floyd Sovill, of Milbrook; Mrs. William Coll, of Fowlerville, and Robert at home; 28 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Robinson, Mason; Mrs. Jennie Schmerhorn, Alba, and Mrs. George Adams, Fowlerville.
