Mrs. Dorothy S. 'Dot' Jarrett, 80, of St. George died Monday May 19, 2003, in St. Francis Hospital, Charleston.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. George United Methodist Church with Dr. Wash Belangia officiating. Burial will follow in St. George Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tom Berry, Ronald Chitty, Jack Stroble, Pete Pate, Teddy Padgett, Oscar Mitchell, Simon Benjamin and Kirk Howell.

Mrs. Jarrett was born Aug. 10, 1922, in Smoaks, a daughter of Richard Heyward and Lola Grace Strickland Smith and was the widow of Fred Batten Jarrett. She was a member of St. George United Methodist Church. She was pre-deceased by a brother, W. Bradford Smith, Goose Creek.

Surviving are two sons, Glenn E. and his wife Salley Crum Buie Jarrett of St. George, and Gary A. and his wife Rose Marie Reardon Jarrett of Kingstree; five grandchildren, Cory Jarrett, Mt. Pleasant, Adam Jarrett and Rebecca Jarrett, St. George, Erin Jarrett, Garden City Beach, Lauren Jarrett, Kingstree; brothers, Jasper Keels Smith, Ridgeland, and Richard Heyward Smith, Jr., Beaufort; sister, Jean S. Smoke, Goose Creek.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Bryant Funeral Home.
