...Gladys Anderson died Feb. 4, 1993, in Ocala, Fla. Her body was cremated and graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Maple Hill Cemetery at Birmingham. The Rev. Sara Malone will officiate.
...Anderson was born Aug. 12, 1899, at Stockport, the daughter of Benham and Alice Alma Nelson. She grew up in Birmingham and lived most of her life in Chicago. In her later years, she worked at her church and a senior center. She moved to Florida in 1983 with her son and daughter-in-law and lived there until her death.
...Surviving are a daughter, Virginia Lee Carr of Seal Beach, Calif.,; a son, Richard of Ocala; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Local relatives include three sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
...Anderson was preceded in death by her husband, Veryl L. Anderson; two sisters; and five brothers.
