Lamar County Echo, Paris, Texas-August 1978-'Kirkman C. Berry, 72, of 934 NW 19th., died Saturday in a local Hospital. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Leverett-Steele-Thomas Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Felix Keys officiating. Burial was made in Oaklawn Cemetery in Cooper. Mr. Berry was born January 18, 1906 in Enloe, the son of J. C. Berry and Annie Jones Berry. He was a member or the Presbyterian Church. Kiwanis Club and the American Legion. He was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Army. He had been a farmer and stockman in Paris for the past 25 years. He married Jessie Durham. Survivors include his wife; four step daughters, Mrs. Laurie McCloud of Dallas, Miss Irene Durham, Mrs. Betty La Rue and Mrs. Billy Sikes, all of Paris; two brothers, French Barry of San Diego. California, and Bill Berry of Lake Creek; one sister, Mrs. Lille Mae Whitlock of Cooper; and three step-grandchildren, Craig Durham, Bill Sikes, Jr. and Kelly La Rue, all of Paris and one step-granddaughter, Laurie McCloud of Dallas. Pallbearers were Wilburn Brown, Frank Weaver, Bill Sikes, Grady Morphis, Walter Franklin and Jesse Thrasher'.
