YAKIMA - Bertha V Weedin, 78, a former Wenatchee resident, died Thursday morning in Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.
Bertha V Weber was born April 6, 1906 in Wilton, N.D. She moved to Prosser with her family in 1907 and was raised and educated there.
She attended the University of Washington in 1928 then returned to Prosser where she married Charles J Weedin on June 8, 1929. They moved to Yakima in 1951 from Wenatchee and in 1956, she received her teaching degree from Western Washington State College.
She taught at Terrace Heights Elementary School and Moxee High School, retiring in 1962. She coached girls volleyball, basketball, and baseball at Moxee.
Mrs. Weedin was a member of the Terrace Heights Presbyterian Church, Washington Education Association, the Sewing Club Antique Seekers and the National Model Collectors Club. An avid gardener she was involved with the Terrace Heights Garden Club, the Arranger's Guild, the National Rose Society, National Lily Society, and was a nationally accredited flower judge.
Survivors include her husband. Charles Yakima: two sons. Charles W., Selah. and David. Yakima. two sisters. Mrs Meredith ( Emma Lou) Clowes and Rose G Weber, both of Prosser: and seven grandchildren She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
