MRS. ALLEN
ABERDEEN, N.C. -- Mrs. Emma Lee Davis Allen, 92, of Aberdeen, formerly of Valley, died Monday, June 6, 2005 at St. Joseph of the Pines in Southern Pines, N.C.
Funeral services are scheduled Friday, June 10 at 2 p.m. at Langdale United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Langdale Cemetery in Valley.
Mrs. Allen is survived by one daughter, Beverly (Mike) Lashley of Aberdeen; two grandchildren, Jason Morrow of Valley and Christy Ridley of Adairsville, Ga.; two great-grandchildren, Zachary Morrow of Valley and Conner Morrow of Valley; two sisters-in-law, Exa (Tom) Rearden of Valley and Sara Mann of LaFayette; one cousin, Audrey (Shorty) Richards of Valley; and several nieces and nephews.
Born in Langdale on Feb. 8, 1913, Mrs. Allen was the daughter of the late Gertrude Richards Davis and the late Robert Lee Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Allen. Mrs. Allen was a homemaker and had been active in her church, Langdale United Methodist Church, until her sickness. She loved her family very much.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Chattahoochee Hospice in Valley or to First Health Hospice in Moore County, N.C.
The family will receive friends Thursday, June 9 from 6 until 9 p.m. at McCarthy Funeral Home in West Point.
