The funeral service for James Douglas "Jim" Barnett of Paris will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ridgeway Funeral Home.

Corey Cain will officiate. Burial will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery between Como and Cottage Grove.

Selected as pallbearers are Dwayne Barnett, Ronnie Watkins, David Todd, Sebastian Black, Dwayne Bruce and Don Peale.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday and after 10 a.m. Saturday.

Barnett, 51, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, in Stewart County.

His wife, Janice Larson Barnett, survives. The two were married on April 18, 2008.

Born in Detroit on Feb. 20, 1957, he was the son of James Dudley Barnett and Mary Edith Doty Barnett of Paris.

Barnett was employed for 23 years with United Parcel Service in Paris. He was a member of Maplewood Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran. He collected railroad memorabilia, arts, crafts and older period furniture. His wife said he was an avid bicycler.

He also leaves two sons: Dwayne (Laura) Barnett and Michael Larson-Barnett, both of Paris; two daughters: Christie (Brian) Bizeau and Ashley Larson, both of Paris;

Two sisters: Mariann Barnett Hagy of Paris and Brenda Dudzinski of Durham, N.C.; four grandchildren: Katie Barnett, Alyson and Scott Bizeau and Jacob Watkins; three nephews: Sebastian Black and Alex and David Dudzinski; and his in-laws: Betty and William Keen of Clarksville.

Memorials may be made to the Maplewood Baptist Church building fund, P.O. Box 106, Paris.
