DEATH CLAIMS EMMA BEERS

PLEASANT GROVE -- Emma Freestone Beers died at a Provo hospital Thursday, April 11, following a major operation.

She was born in Vernal, January 22, 1883, the daughter of George and Jennie Lynn Freestone. She married Warren Beers, March 25, 1901. The family moved here from Vernal 16 years ago. Mrs. Beers has always been a kind neighbor and friend, and a wonderful mother.

Survivors are her husband, her mother, the following children: Elmo Beers, Los Angeles; Leland, Eugene, RaY, Jennie and Kenneth, Pleasant Grove; 4 granchildren; these brothers and sisters: Clarence, Emily, Mrs. Rozella Beck, all of Vernal; and Mrs. Afton Ellard, California.

Funeral services willbe held in the 2nd Ward Chapel, Sunday, April 14, at 12:30 p.m. with interment in the city cemetery.

Mrs. Emma Beers, Former Vernal Matron, Buried Sunday at Pleasant Grove

The funeral services for Emma Freestone Beers, 52, of Pleasant Grove, were held Sunday at 12:30 under the direction of the Second Ward Bishopric of that place. Interment was made in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

The deceased was born in Vernal, June 22, 1883, the daughter of George and Jennie Lind Freestone, pioneers of Ashley Valley. She is the wife of Warren Beers who survives. After their marriage they lived for several years in Vernal.

Besides her husband the deceased is survived by five sons, Elmo of California, Leland, Eugene, Ray and Kenneth and one daughter June, all of Pleasant Grove. Her aged mother, Jennie Lind Freestone of Vernal, seven brothers and two sisters, George O., James, Lewis, Reuben, Emery, Chas. and Clarence Freestone, all of Vernal; Mrs. Rozella Beck of Dry Fork and Mrs. Afton Druillard of Taft, California.

Her mother and brothers, George O. and Emery were unable to attend the funeral. Mrs. George O. Freestone, Mr. and Mrs. John Milburn and John W. Pope attended the service.
