Ada (Shinn) Arvieux
1917-2008

Ada Arvieux, 91, of Sedalia, died on Thursday, November 13, 2008 with her family at her side. She was born in rural Benton County on October 30, 1917, the daughter of John R. and Rose Lee (Foster) Shinn.

Ada married William Arvieux on September 6, 1938.

Ada was the youngest of 12 children. She was raised in the Hogles Creek community and attended school in a one room school. Ada was a wonderful wife and mother, known for her pies, fried chicken, flowers and garden. Every Sunday was a family gathering for her dinners. Ada loved country music and enjoyed watching the Andy Griffith Show.

Ada was predeceased by her parents,her husband,three sisters and eight brothers.

She is survived by three daughters, Sharon Blankenship and husband J.T., Linda Young and husband Paul, and Sandra Robertson and husband Rick, all of Sedalia; 7 step grandchildren; 15 step great grandchildren; and numerous neices and nephews.

Funeral services will be on Monday, November 17, 2008 at 2:00PM in the Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home. Rev. Alvin Sipe will officiate. Pallbearers will be Dan Wissman, Danny Wissman, Derrick Wissman, Leroy Perkins, Jimmy Perkins, Brian Bower and David Ross. Honorary pallbearers will be Edward Shinn and Richard Shinn. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November, 16, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home.

Ada's family suggests memorial contributions to the Bothwell Hospice, American Cancer Society or Grace Baptist Church, in care of the funeral home.
