Parish vigil for Isabel Lucy Herrman, 89, of Ransom, will be 7 tonight at St. Aloysius Church, Ransom. Funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Gregory LeBlanc officiating. Burial will be in Ransom Cemetery.
Mrs. Herrman died Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at Grisell Memorial Long Term Care in Ransom.
She was born Feb. 22, 1913, at Simpson, the daughter of Joseph N. and Mary A. Provost Lefort.
A homemaker, she was a longtime resident of Utica before moving to Ransom in 1999. She was a member of St. Aloysius Church, Altar Society and Daughters of Isabella, all at Ransom, and belonged to EHU and Golden Circle Senior Center, both at Utica.
On May 6, 1935, she married Albert M. Herrman at Garden City. He died June 19, 1977. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Ben and John Herrman; a daughter, Loretta J. Perkins; and seven brothers.
Survivors include three sons, Joe Herrman, Garden City, Bob Herrman, Utica, and Ralph Herrman, St. Joseph, Mo.; two daughters, Rosanna Haug, Ransom, and Veronica Reddig, Salina; a brother, Leo Lefort, Utica; three sisters, Phyllis Geier, Lamar, Colo., Alma West, Crowne Point, Ind., and Rosanna Martin, Delray Beach, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation hours are until 3:30 this afternoon at Fitzgerald Funeral Home in Ness City, from 6 to 7 tonight at the church, and until service time Thursday at the church. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or St. Aloysius Church, both in care of the funeral home, Box 96, Ness City, KS 67560.
