MRS. JOEL HECK DIES
Had Been an Invalid for Several Years
Mrs. Joel Heck, aged 57, died at the Heck home, one mile northeast of Carthage this morning at 8:25. Her death was caused by a complication of diseases.
For a number of years Mrs. Heck had been an invalid and had been bedfast about three weeks. She grew steadily worse until the end today.
Her maiden name was Jemima Shoup and she was born February 28, 1854 in Dayton, Ohio. November 5, 1872 she was married to Joel Heck in Dayton, and in February 1878, moved to Missouri with her husband. They have lived near Carthage since that time.
Seven children and her husband survive her. The children are;
Jesse and Sam Heck of Oklahoma City
John Heck of Sarcoxie
Edward and Roy Heck of Carthage, who were at her bedside when the end came
Mrs. R. I. Montgomery of Cimarron, Kansas and
Mrs. F. W. Hood of Carthage
The funeral was held at the Heck home.
