Brownie D. Wood Battle Creek Mrs. Brownie D. Wood, 86, of Battle Creek, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at Calhoun County Medical Care Facility. She was born March 8, 1922 in Pulaski, TN, the daughter of Guy and Lela (Appleton) Duncan. She married Albert E. Wood and they were married for 50 years until he passed away. Brownie worked at Sears and K-Mart and then she opened the Orchard House Adult Foster Care Home for Ladies in 1972. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Battle Creek. Surviving are her daughters, Barbara Sayers of Battle Creek, Linda Neilson of Marshall; grandchildren, Raymond Ostafin of Battle Creek, Norman Wooten, Jr. of Battle Creek, Guy Kellems of Pittsburg, PA, Christine Hough of Pittsburg, PA, Michelle Jayakar of Ann Arbor, Kevin Kellems of Battle Creek, Brandon Looney of Battle Creek, Addie Sayers of Atlanta, GA; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Bud Edwards and Lonney Kellems, Sr.; sons, Lonney Kellems, Jr, Gary Kellems; sister, Iva Bess Bookie; and brother, Ellis Duncan. Visitation will be held at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on Thursday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, 10:00 a.m. at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service with Pastor Gary L. Siefert officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial tributes may be made to Calhoun County Medical Care Facility.
