Wife of Plumer Duckett Ayers Sr. Daughter of Benson Bascom Garrison and Henrietta Anderson. Benson was the son of Enoch C. Garrison and wife Orpha Clementine Meaders of the Prospect Methodist Community near Homer, Banks County, Georgia. Henrietta was the daughter of Josiah Jenkins "J.J." Anderson and wife Sarah A. Nix Anderson, of the same area.

Myrtle taught school in Banks County, Georgia before her marriage to Plumer Ayers, and the couple had four children: 1. Virginia Anne, 2. Dorothy Latranquil, 3. Plumer Duckett Ayers Jr., and 4. Peggy. The family lived in a large hous overlooking the railroad tracks in Cornelia, Georgia, attended the Cornelia Christian Church. Myrtle's descendants include one Ph.D. in education, at least one engineer, two lawyers, one nurse, several teachers and one medical doctor.

Baldwin, GA - Myrtle Garrison Ayers, 88, of Baldwin, widow of Plumer D. Ayers, died Monday, Oct. 8, 1990, at Scenic View Health Care Center.

Born in Banks County, she was a daughter of Benson and Henrietta A. Garrison. She was a homemaker and a member of Cornelia Christian Church.

Surviving are daughters, Virginia Crocker of Baldwin, Dot Martin of Toccoa and Peggy Riner of Milledgeville; son, P. D. Ayers Jr. of Marietta; sister, Dorothy Dockery of Cornelia, 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
Services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at McGahee-Griffin Funeral Home chapel by David Terrell. Burial will be in Yonah Memorial Gardens.

The body is at the funeral home. The family is at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Grady (Virginia) Crocker.
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Cornelia Christian Church Building fund.
