He married Rena Brown on Feb. 16, 1938 at Town Line parsonage in the town of Lisbon. Mrs. Dezell was director of Fox Funeral Home for many years. She died April 12, 1997.
Mr. Dezell worked in the security department of St. Lawrence State Hospital for 37 years, retiring in 1977. He also sold real estate for a time and was employed by Fox Funeral Home for many years.
He was a founding member of Lisbon Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad and had been honored as Fireman of the Year. He was a member and former elder of Lisbon United Presbyterian Church and was a member of Quebec Brook Hunting Club, Waddington Masonic Lodge, and Lisbon American Legion, where he was a past commander.
