Hazel V. Anderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Johnson, was born southwest of Stromsburg on January 26, 1907 and passed away on July 7, 1970 at Annie Jeffrey Hospital at the age of 63 years, 5 months and II days. Mrs. Anderson spent her childhood days with her parents in their home in the vicinity of Stromsburg, receiving her education in the public schools. Later on she worked for the telephone company for several years.
On May 6, 1956 she was united in marriage to Mr. John E. Anderson of Osceola, Nebraska. Mrs. Anderson joined the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Osceola, Nebraska in her early years and was a good faithful member.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister. Mrs. Anderson is survived by her husband, John, one sister, Lillie A. Johnson, one brother, Clarence R. Johnson, several nieces and nephews and other relatives and many friends. Hazel was always willing to help others in any way that she could and spent much of her time working with older people. She will be greatly missed.
Services were held at 10:00 a.m. July 10th at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul Konig officiating. Wesley Peterson sang, "How Great Thou Art" and "Safe In the Arms of Jesus" accompanied by Mrs. Ewald Pliefke. Escorts were Martin Jones, Mauritz Swanson, Otto Nelson, William Buhl, Chris Gaedeke and Martin Anderson. Burial was in the Stromsburg Cemetery.
