William Francis Goings, b. 26 Jan 1886, was the 2nd child of Charles C and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Ray Goings.
William's 1st sibling, a sister, died the year before William was born so at that time he was the only child of Charles and Lizzie.
Charles and Lizzie had another daughter in 1887 giving William a baby sister, Margaret Arminda.
In 1888 William's mother and father divorced and his father moved to St Louis leaving William, his mother and sister in Poplar Bluff.
On 17 Oct 1889 in Ripley County, Missouri, William's mother married James Barefoot Goings who is his father's uncle.
James raised William and Margaret Arminda as his own children.
William married Mary Elizabeth Arterberry 25 Sep 1909 in Poplar Bluff, Butler County, Missouri.
William and Mary had one child:
Elizabeth M Goings, Elizabeth died an infant.
