Hampton Harmon was a son of George Henry Cosper and Martha Elizabeth Knopp Cosper. He and his first wife, Eliza Carolina Smith Cosper, moved to Texas from Randolph Co., Alabama circa 1854. They had fifteen children during their marriage. After Eliza's death, he married a young widow, Anna Pandora "Dora" Trammel Worley, who had one child from her prior marriage. They had five children during their marriage.
