Alice Mae Godfrey Beverly, age 77, of Iron Gate, Virginia, died, Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at her residence.
She was born on June 5, 1926 in Eagle Rock, Virginia, a daughter of the late Charles and Julia Thompson Godfrey.
Mrs. Beverly was a homemaker and a member of Jackson Memorial Church of God in Christ, Iron Gate.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Paul D. Beverly, Sr. Of Iron Gate; two daughters and sons-in-law, Susie and Thomas West of Iron Gate, and Alice N. And Johnny Jones of Tyler, Tx.; seven sons and five daughters-in-law, Paul D. Jr. And Lucille Beverly of Clifton Forge, John Sr. And Carolyn Beverly of Clifton Forge, Melvin and Mae Beverly of Wynne, Ak., Curtis and Judy Beverly of Roanoke, Minister Michael and Lorene Beverly of Iron Gate, Frank Beverly of Iron Gate, and Claude Beverly of Iron Gate; thirty four grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Annie Godfrey of White Sulphur Springs, WV.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Gloria Beverly, one son, Bruce Beverly, one sister, Maggie Fowler, four brothers, Charles Jr., Asberry, Frank and Dewey Godfrey, and two half brothers, Fats and Shirley Thompson.
