Gerald served as a Major, 165th Special Operations Squadron, U.S. Air Force during Vietnam.

He resided in New Castle, Delaware prior to being in the Service.

Gerald was first declared "Missing In Action" and later as "Killed In Action" in the Thua Thien Province during the war.

He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.

Gerald is honored on Panel 1W, Row 44 of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Washington, D.C.

Gerald was the Last Delawarean to be killed in Vietnam !
