Funeral services were held Monday afternoon for Mrs. Peter C. Meyer, 56, who passed away Friday morning at Tyler hospital. Rev. Eilert C. Nielsen officiated at 1:30 p.m. at the home, and at 2:00 at Diamond Lake Church. Interment was in D-Lake cemetery.

Maxine Stienbeck sang and Mrs. Hans Meyer served as organist at the services. Pallbearers were Harlan and Ivan Meyer, Wallace Kracke, Vernon Krenz, Gale Steinbeck and Maurice Hintz.

Lydia Marie Steinback was born November 13, 1893, at White S.D. She lived in the White community during her early life. In October, 1912, she was married to John W. Ayres. They lived in the White community for a number of years. To them were born four children, George, Maurice, Ethel and Joseph. Ethel died February 7, 1921.

Shortly afterward they moved to the West Coast, returning in 1930 to live in Brookings, S. Dak.

On September 28, 1935, she was married to Peter C. Meyer. After their marriage they moved to Mitchell, S.D., and the following year to Sioux Falls, where they resided till four years ago, since when they have lived in Lake Benton.

Mrs. Meyer was in ill helath the last few months. On April 19 she suffered a heart attack and was taken to the Tyler hospital where she passed away at 6:45 a.m. April 21st, at the age of 56 years, 5 months and 8 days.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ethel, son George, her father John, her brother Ray and her sister Emma Hintz.

Surviving are her husband, Peter, sons Maurice of Sioux Falls, Joseph of Sanborn, Minn.; step-children, Stanley and Soren Meyer of Sioux Falls and Mrs. Eldon (Thelma) Showalter of Lake Benton; her mother, Bertha Steinbeck of White S.D.; five brother, Charles of Fenton, Ia., Fred of Bushnell, S.D., Arthur of Alta, Ia., John and Ted of Brookings S.D., sisters, Gladys Krenz and Mary Kracke, of White, S.D., and Bertha Stoutenberg of Corde Alene, Idaho. There are 10 grand children and 36 nieces and nephews.
