John was the 2nd child & son born to James Emory & Frances V. (Ogan) House. He was a carpenter and was a member of the carpenter's union. He had been past President of the Eagles lodge and served as chairman of the Coshocton County Salvage committee. On July 30, 1902 he married Lulu Z. Peer. They had 2 children - Harold and Pauline (married name Torjusen). John and Lulu divorced in October 1921, and John married Clara Everhart on September 15, 1932 in Wheeling, WV. They divorced on April 27, 1935. John and Lulu re-married on January 20, 1938 in Coshocton.
