Christie Jacobson was born July 3, 1848, and died at her home near Attica, Oct. 12, 1928, at the age of 80 years, 3 months and 9 days.
When a child she came with her parents to America where they settled on a farm near Albany. Here she grew to young womanhood enduring with her parents the privations of early pioneer life.
She was united in marriage to Andrew Albertson, Mar. 4, 1873. To this union five children were born, one child, Anton dying in infancy.
She is survived by her husband, three sons, Fred, Gilbert and Otis, and one daughter, Lena Lewis to mourn the loss of a beloved wife and mother.
She also leaves to mourn her loss three sisters, Mrs. Lena Gilberston, Mrs. Louie Larson, and Miss Martha Gilbertson (sic) of Barron and on brother, Gabel (sic) of Albany, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
She was always devoted to the best interests of her loved ones working for their spiritual as well as their material welfare and expressed in the word of God and his promises.
She was a faithful member of the Lutheran church, never missing services if possible to be there.
She has been in failing health for several years but two weeks ago she became very ill and in spite of all that loving hands could do she passed away, Friday, October 12, 1928.
“We knew her and we loved her, in the happy days gone by. Let us live so that we may meet her in our
Father’s home on high.”
The funeral was held Sunday, with brief service at the home at 1:30 and services at the church at 2:00 o’clock in the afternoon.
Those from a distance attending the funeral were Levor Thompson and wife, Leonard Thompson and wife of Riley, Bert Thompson and sons, John Flick, Melvin Carpenter of Verona, Ole Lee and wife, of Mt. Herob (sic), Ben and George Gilbertson, Mrs. Lena Gilbertson, Mrs. Louise Larson, Miss Martha Jacobson and Henry Jensvold of Barron.
