Samuel Harker Fulford, 87, retired police officer, died at his residence, 209 S 15th St., Tuesday morning after a short illness.
He was born at Straits, son of the late David W, and Mary Catherine Fulford. He entered the service with the Wilmington Police Department October 1, 1911 and retired November 15, 1937. He was a member of Straits Methodist Church.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Louise King Fulford and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 am at Andres Mortuary Chapel by the Rev Robert Le Nicks. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be J.C. DeVane, J. Lemuel King, R.C Kirven, F.L. DeVane, D.P. Niven and S.W. Ketchum.
