Obituary

Mrs. Azuba O. Allen, wife of Geo. H. Allen, died at her home on Pass creek at 7:30 last Friday morning as the result of a paralytic stroke two or three years go, which was followed by a second and then a third just a day or two before her death. The body was brought to this place Sunday and the funeral took place at 2 o'clock p. m. from the
Presbyterian church of which she was a member. Rev Forde preached a very appropriate and instructive sermon, after which the body was interred in the cemetery here. There was an unusually large number of people in attendance, showing the respect commanded the deceased.

Azuba O. Woolsey was born Oct. 2nd, 1846 in Ashville, N C. She was married to Geo. H. Allen on her birthday in the year 1882. They came to this country in 1884 and resided on Pass creek ever since. She was the second wife of Mr. Allen and to them was born two sons, John and Gilbert, both of whom and the husband, together with one brother, G. W. Woolsey, and three sisters, survive her.

Deceased was a devoted church member, a kind and helpful neighbor as well as a devoted mother and wife. Her nature, was kind and gentle and she will be sadly missed from the home she presided over for so many years with such tender affection and grace.
