CHARLES WILLIAM COGGINS 78, a native of Chilton Co., AL, died March 30, 2004 in Paso Robles at his residence. A graveside service will be 2 p.m., Monday, April 5, at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine, CA. Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, Sunday, April 4, at Kuehl-Nicolay Funeral Home in Paso Robles, CA. Mr. Coggins served in the U.S. Marines, U.S. Army and the U.S. Army Reserve, and was a member of the Teamsters Local Union and California State Retirees Assoc. He held life memberships in the Marine Corps League, China Marine Assoc., 91st Infantry Division League and First Marine Division Assoc. He worked as a security officer for the State of California at the California School of the Deaf, Fremont, CA for 15 years. Mr. Coggins loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed bicycling, camping, and also listening and playing music. He was very active in the community. Survivors include wife Pauline Coggins of Paso Robles, daughters, Paula Rippee (husband Rip) of Santa Maria, CA and Pamela J. Coggins of Lompoc, CA, sons, Charles F. Coggins of Colorado Springs, CO and Michael F. (wife Laurie) Coggins of Newark, CA, 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Services under the direction of Kuehl-Nicolay Funeral Home.
