He was born May 14, 1925 in Benton County, Tennessee a son of the late R. G. and Hallie Watson Hicks Comer.
He played varsity football at Science Hill High School, served in the U. S. Marine Corp in the Pacific theatre in WWII and spent most of his life in Southern California. He retired from J. C. Penney Co.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Clara Comer and two brothers, Clarence Comer and Earlie E. Hicks and infant daughter, Linda Louise Comer.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marion Prueter Comer; two daughters, Terri Johnson, Castle Rock, WA, Carol Hallowell, Fullerton, CA; a son, Joey Hugo Comer, Pomona, CA a brother, Harold and wife, Joanne Comer, Jonesborough and a sister, Muriel and husband, Robert L. King, Johnson City, several nieces and nephews.
