June Rose Black, 83, Greenwood, died Monday morning at Altoona Center for Nursing Care. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late John and Viola (Cup) Burkhart. She married Paul W. Black Sr. Nov. 17, 1941, in Bellwood. He died in September 1977. Surviving are a son, Paul W. Jr. and wife, Juneen, of Martinsburg; daughters: Gloria J. Carles and husband, Phil, of Altoona, and Tracy L. Eckenrode and husband, Jim, of Tyrone RD 2; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah A. Replogle.

June enjoyed cooking, baking, reading and yard sales. She also enjoyed collecting cookbooks and watching cooking shows on television. June especially enjoyed visits with her children and grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 2 to the 4 p.m. funeral service Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood, with Pastor Hud Crossman officiating. Interment will be at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood.
