About this close view of the controls of a Wright plane, Brabazon later wrote: "Passenger sits in dead center, safety straps shown on seat, dual controls - my left hand rests on hinged rudder control, lower part wing warp for lateral stability. Gasoline had to be shut off on stopping of motor as motor, as motor had no carburetor. Gas goes thru a jet with small holes, into air intake to motor. Air-plane had two speeds - go and STOP. Stopped one-third of time air the air. Pedal at tip of my shoe was magneto to retard to slow motor on landing. Very simple and perfectly safe at all times?".
