Benight Funeral to Be Held Wednesday
Mrs. Letta Ray Benight, 58, wife of Guy William Benight of the Dever neighborhood, died at the home of her son, Ray Everett Benight, at 1306 W. Ninth Street, Albany, Sunday, Aug. 23. She was born in Iowa, Jan. 16, 1884 and moved with her parents to Albany when four years old and had resided in Albany and vicinity since except for seven years in Montana, living in the Dever neighborhood for the last 19 years. She was married in Albany Sept. 19, 1906 to Guy William Benight, who survives her, along with three children, Ray Everett Benight, Mrs. Charles Henion and Miss Una May Benight, all of Albany; two grandchildren, David and Lloyd Henion; two nephews and four nieces and a brother, Wayne Edgar Johnson of Salem. Mrs. Benight was a member of the Church of God. Funeral services will be held from the Fortmiller funeral home at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, with Elder M. W. Unicker officiating. The singers are to be Mrs. Roy Daily and Mrs. Leon Sittser. Mrs. Dave Henion and Mrs. Albert Jellison are to be in charge of the floral offerings. Interment is to be in the Riverside cemetery. The pall-bearers are Will Sheffield, Otho Jellison, Otis Cole, Glenn Sheffield, Orville Sheffield and Dave Henson.
