Benson, Albert M., 77, retired Santa Fe Railways freight conductor, died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2000. Visitation with family 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. today, Carson-Wall Funeral Home; service 3:30 p.m. Friday, First Christian Church.

Survivors: wife, Mary Lou; sons, John of Parsons, Wayne of Littleton, Colo., David of Leawood, Ralph of Houston; brother, William of Overland Park; sisters, Dorothy Sadler of Owasso, Okla., Marjorie Rhyne of Rochester, Minn.; seven grandchildren. Memorials have been established with First Christian Church, Chanute and First Christian Church, Parsons.

Deceased Name: Albert M. Benson
CHANUTE - Albert M. Benson, 77, former longtime Chanute resident, died at 7:20 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2000, at the Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.

He moved to Parsons in July 1999 and lived at 2714 Wilson.

He was a retired conductor for the Santa Fe Railroad. His wife, Mary Lou, survives of the home.

He was the father of John Benson, Parsons USD 503 superintendent.

The service will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the First Christian Church, with the Rev. Mark Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery at Humboldt.

The family will receive friends from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church of Parsons or the First Christian Church of Chanute.
