He was born April 11, 1926, in Texas County, Okla., to Lando and Dorothy Stall Ellis.
Mr. Ellis owned Elkhart Hot Oil Service until his retirement. He was a member of Elkhart Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3162, Elkhart Ambassadors, Morton County Historical Society and Point Rock Campers Club, served in the U.S. Army (11th Airborn) during World War II, and enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife Gladys, step-daughter Shirley, sons Rick, Gary, Cary, Tim, 10 grand-children and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lando William Ellis and Dorothy Celia Stall Ellis.
Funeral was at Hillcrest Baptist Church, Elkhart. Burial was in Elkhart Cemetery, with military rites conducted by Elkhart VFW Post No. 3162.
